First Gig of the New Year
Actually, it's the second gig 'cos we went to see the Scissor Sisters last Thursday (who were 'fabulous' btw) but they don't count 'cos it was a) at the airport and b) see a.
Missed the opening act due to an over enthusiastic cab driver who was convinced that the Central Harbour tunnel was the quickest way to get to HITEC. (Fact: It wasn't quickest when there was a bloody airport just around the corner and it still bloody well isn't now, knobhead.)
Needless to say, the delay also meant being unable to stock up on beers from the G/F 7-11 as the fridges had been stripped of anything cold by then. This means having to deal with the outrageous bar. $50 for a can of Carlsberg. People's Party, has Clockenflap taught you nothing?
Any road, beer finally in hand on come The Jezabels who calmed things down with a healthy set of rocking tunes followed by the dulcit groovy vibes from The Naked and Famous. Top quality entertainment on a Tuesday night and no mistake.
Sadly, what with it being a school night and me actually living on an island that I had to access by yet another island, Metronomy was bailled upon (but having seen them in 2011 it wasn't a massive hardship.)
Keep up the good work Justin. We, the People in Hong Kong need you to continue to fill our musical void. Just sort the beer out, eh?
